A coaxial cable for 24 connections

The GT SAT GT-S2DCSS24 is an LNB that cannot be programmed and works with the DCSS standard, the LNB has 1 DCSS output that is in Dynamic mode with which 24 receivers can be provided with satellite signal and 2 legacy outputs. The receivers that are connected to the DCSS output must then support DCSS / unicable. Several models in the market support this, including the Edision Piccollo.

Legacy

Two of three LNB ports of the S2DCSS24 are legacy outputs, with the legacy ports it is possible to generate a standard connection for a receiver that cannot handle DCSS.

What is DCSS

DCSS means "Digital Channel Stacking Switch" - it converts received SAT signals to "User tables"

The converted transponders are combined / sent on a single coaxial cable to the receiver (s).

Communication between the DCSS multiswitches and the connected receivers is done via a specific protocol (EN50494 Unicable I & EN50607 unicable II) - using DiSEQC commands.

  • Single cable technology (DCSS / unicable) - allows transporting DVB-S / S2 over 1 coaxial cable.
  • Many lower installation costs - because only one coax cable is used
  • Easy splitting of SAT signals + simple addition of terrestrial signals.
